How this collection
was checked.

Open access.
Clear attribution.
Careful interpretation.

This collection contains 200 unique journal publications, selected for relevance to at least one of seven housing, urban-climate and resilience topics. It is a curated educational collection, not a systematic review, a comprehensive literature search or 200 independent experiments.

Selection and access

Focused searches used Europe PMC's legal open-access collection. Every included paper has a publication date on or before 17 October 2026, a DOI matched to its Crossref journal-article record, a retrievable full article body and an article-level licence statement. Preprints, protocols, correction notices counted as separate papers, retractions and abstract-only records were excluded. The collection includes original research, reviews, brief reports and one peer-reviewed data paper.

Published-journal status, article classification, the article's publication history and publisher/repository records were used to distinguish published research from preprints and non-research material. Peer review is not a guarantee of correctness; individual referee reports were not audited for every paper.

What the notes contain

Notes paraphrase selected findings or contributions after checks against full-text source sections, including abstracts, conclusions/discussion and targeted source passages. Each includes a household connection, a clearly labelled illustrative example, and limitations or applicability cautions. Notes are educational explanations. They are not a complete reading of every table, supplement and method, a systematic risk-of-bias assessment, an independent validation of the research or personalised building or medical advice.

Corrections and related evidence

Five included papers have linked correction notices that were reviewed and linked from their notes. The notices concern figures, acknowledgements or affiliation information. A candidate with a later correction whose contents could not be verified was replaced. Publications can share participants, trials or underlying data: 200 unique DOI records do not equal 200 independent datasets.

Coverage and transfer

Europe PMC's indexing favours environmental-health and life-science literature, so this collection is not representative of all architecture and building-science research. International studies are included; climates, housing types and populations differ. Surface, outdoor-air and indoor temperatures are distinct measurements. Simulated savings and health benefits are kept distinct from observed outcomes. Laboratory materials and sensor prototypes are not presented as ready-to-install products.

Access and reuse

Original articles remain with their legal publishers or repositories. The website contains original educational notes and source links, not copied manuscripts. “Free to read” does not mean every paper permits unrestricted adaptation or commercial reuse: each article's own licence applies. Reading notes and the complete list work offline; source articles require internet access. Access was checked on 17 October 2026 and may change. All 200 full article bodies were retrieved. In a separate automated reader-page check, 145 opened directly and 55 requested browser verification; an alternative verified machine-readable full text is linked in every note.
